I
grew up in the Hazleton, Pennsylvania area, which is located in
southern Luzerne County. I have been researching my family
history since the 1980s, when I was shown a family bible containing
information about a good portion of my ancestors on my mother's side
of the family. I had previously posted some of the information
on the Internet. Quite a few people corresponded with me
as a result of that original posting and they provided me with
valuable information which enabled me to learn even more about my
ancestors. I owe them a great deal.
I no longer live in Luzerne
County, but I am within a two hour drive of my old home. I
have been able to visit my living relatives and locate the graves of
many others. I have traveled to Pottsville and Allentown to
further my research, since my mother's side of the family originated
from those areas. I am, like many other amateur
geneologists, restricted to vacations and other days off from
work to do this. I am once again posting a narrative of my
family history in the hopes that I can help others who are
researching their own families and who may be able to provide me
with information that can help me break through the walls of
history with my own research.
